Methodology
Where our fomo.family data comes from, how fresh it is, and exactly what we mean when we call a wallet verified.
Data sources
We use two kinds of public data, and nothing else:
- fomo.family’s public leaderboards and trader profiles. Handles, ranks, PnL, volume, trade counts and followers are fomo.family’s own numbers. We show them as published and do not recompute them.
- Public blockchain data on Solana and EVM chains such as BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain. This is what wallet evidence comes from.
We do not use private data, and we do not buy data from brokers.
How fresh it is
Our pipeline takes a snapshot of each fomo.family leaderboard (24 hours, 7 days and 30 days) every few hours, and this site reads the latest snapshot every 5 minutes. Every leaderboard shows the time its snapshot was taken, and every API response carries asOf timestamps.
Rank changes (▲▼) compare a board with the previous snapshot of the same board. The rising traders page also compares the 24-hour leaderboard with the 7-day one: a trader ranked well higher over the last day than over the week, with a profitable week, is rising.
Wallet verification
Every wallet we link to a trader carries one of two labels, per wallet and per chain:
- Verified: an on-chain transaction moved that wallet’s balance in step with one of the trader’s fomo.family trades. The reported trade and the on-chain transfer are the same event, which anyone can check on a block explorer.
- Likely: there is evidence linking the wallet to the trader, but not that proof. Circumstantial evidence never turns a likely wallet into a verified one; only a matching transaction does.
A trader nobody has checked yet is shown as not checked, never as a trader with no wallets. Traders add wallets over time, so a record is what we knew when we last looked. More on verified and likely.
Addresses on this site and in the API
Every trader page lists the trader’s wallets in a shortened form, each with its chain and label: enough to recognise a wallet, not to copy it. The Provadata API returns the full addresses, with the evidence and timestamps behind each label, batch lookups of 100, and reverse lookup from an address to the trader who owns it.
Trader pages
Every trader who reaches a fomo.family leaderboard gets a page. When they leave the leaderboards the page stays, marked with the date we last saw them there, and is removed after 180 days away. A trader who wants their page removed can ask us here, and it comes down.
Limits
- Leaderboard numbers are fomo.family’s. If they are wrong or change later, ours are too.
- Data can be delayed by up to a few hours, and a trader’s wallet list can be incomplete.
- Nothing here is financial advice. See the disclaimer.
