A private copytrade bot that buys in the same block as fomo.family traders

A private Solana bot that aims to land your buy in the same block as the trader's: what it would do, what it cannot promise, and how to ask for a seat.

Copying a fomo.family trader has one problem that no amount of code on your side fixes: you buy after they do. On a token that moves a few percent a second, "after" is a price, and you pay it on every copy.

We are looking at building a private copytrade bot that tries to close that gap completely, by landing your buy in the same block as the trader’s. It is not built yet. This post explains what it would do, what it cannot promise, and how to tell us you want it.

What "same block" means

On Solana a block, or slot, is produced roughly every 400 milliseconds. Every transaction in it is ordered and executed together. If the trader’s buy and yours are in the same block, you trade at the price they moved, not the price after a dozen other copiers piled in during the next blocks.

The usual ways of copying arrive later:

  • Watching the app is seconds to minutes late: a person has to see the trade and act.
  • A listener on our trade stream hears about a trade once it is in a block. By then that block is finished, so the earliest your copy can land is a later one. For most strategies that is fine. For a fast token it is the whole difference.

Same-block copying needs the trader’s transaction to be seen before its block closes, and a fast route to the validator producing that block. That is infrastructure run per customer, close to the chain, and it is why this would be a private bot and not another API endpoint.

What the bot would do

  • Follow the traders you choose, by fomo.family handle, or the top of a leaderboard.
  • Use verified wallets only. A copy fires only on a wallet an on-chain transaction proves is that trader’s (how verification works), never on a likely one.
  • Trade from your own wallet, with your limits: size per trade, maximum per token, which traders, buys only or exits as well.
  • Solana first. It is where most fomo.family volume is, and where block timing is what we measure.
  • A small number of users. Many bots chasing the same block for the same trade compete with each other, so seats would be limited.

What it cannot promise

We would rather say this now than after you have paid.

  • Not every copy will land in the same block. It depends on when the trade is seen, the fee paid and the validator. The aim is same block; some copies will land one or two later.
  • Copying a good trader is not the same as their result. They may sell seconds after buying, size differently from you, or hold tokens you never bought.
  • You can lose money. Memecoins go to zero. Nothing here is financial advice.

Tell us you want it

Whether we build it depends on who asks. Message us with "copytrade" and, if you can:

  • the fomo.family traders you would copy, or which leaderboard,
  • roughly how much you would put on each trade,
  • whether you copy by hand today, or with a bot of your own.

Asking commits you to nothing. We will write to everyone who asked before seats open.

Until then

If you would rather build your own copier, the trade stream sends each buy and sell by the traders you follow as it lands on-chain, with the wallet and the transaction, and it is included in every paid plan. The 24h leaderboard is where to find who is worth following.
